Saab Parts UK now established and operating
In order to provide a maintenance network and parts availability for UK Saab owners going forwards, a new company called Saab Parts UK has been established. Created on 1st January 2012, Saab Parts UK is a wholly owned business of Saab Automobile Parts A.B. in Sweden, which remains outside the bankruptcy process for the vehicle manufacturing company, and continues to trade normally.

Formed primarily to ensure the on-going availability and distribution of Saab parts for UK customers, Saab Parts UK has also contracted the majority of previous Saab Authorised Repairers to provide service and repair facilities for owners. Collectively there are 87 Saab Authorised Repairers appointed across the country, which are continuing to operate as normal. Appreciating the overall footprint has changed from last year the dealer locator on the Saab.co.uk website can help you identify your nearest Saab Authorised Repairer.

The Saab Authorised Repairer network are continuing to offer a broad range of services packaged with highly competitive prices to maintain your Saab vehicle in optimum condition, using genuine Saab parts guaranteed for 2 years and fitted by trained Saab technicians, who know your car better than anybody else.

Saab Great Britain Ltd & Saab City Ltd Administrators Appointed
David Dunckley and Daniel Taylor of Grant Thornton UK LLP have been appointed joint administrators of Saab Great Britain Ltd ("Saab GB") and Saab City Ltd ("SaabCity").  The appointments took place today (29 November 2011) and were at the invitation of the Directors.

Saab GB, a 100% subsidiary of Swedish Automobile N.V. ("Swan"), has exclusive rights to distribute Saab cars and parts in the UK.  It employs 55 people in Milton Keynes and distributes the cars and parts to a 58 strong dealer network across the UK of which 20 are "Saab only" sites. SaabCity, a wholly owned subsidiary of Saab GB employing 65 people, operates two Saab motor dealerships, one in Wapping and a smaller site in Fulham.

The appointment of administrators follows the well publicised problems across the Saab Group of Companies:  Saab Automobile AB, the main operating company within the Group, won protection from creditors from the Swedish courts in September 2011. Production has been intermittent during 2011.
